Marvis R. Green, is the youngest of twelve children. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio to Paul and Jessie Hall. She is married to C. Tony Green and they have a blended family of six children. They are now proud grandparents.
Marvis is a 1982 graduate of Aiken High School. After college she spent the next several years in Europe working for the Directorate of Logistics. She also worked as a Civilian Contractor for the Department of Defense in Killeen, Texas.
In 1990, she began working for Macy's Credit and Customer Service as a Collections Supervisor. In 2009 she took a medical retirement.
At an early age she expressed an interest in speaking which began at the New Jerusalem Baptist Church. This was the beginning of her spiritual foundation. Throughout the years she has perfected her speaking abilities.
In 1999 she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and her focus changed. After the untimely death of her brother in 2002, she found herself the family's spokesperson regarding this tragedy. At this point she started to question her purpose in life.
In 2007 and 2008 she was the keynote speaker for Macy's Credit and Customer Service for their MS Fundraising Rally Kickoff. The response was overwhelming. At that point she realized that it was her spiritual calling to motivate others. It is marvis' hope in the future to continue to be active within the community in the capacity in which she is best suited. Her mission is to continue to motivate, support and inspire others through her speaking engagements.
In 2007, she was one of the recipients of the YMCA Black Achievers Award. This award is presented to individuals who exhibit outstanding involvement and support of worthwhile causes in the local community.
In 2008, Marvis founded the MS Motivational Institute Incorporated. The company was established with the mission of providing motivational speaking, advocacy, travel guidance, education and other services for MS patients and their families. This has been the companies focus in the past, present and will be in the future.
In October 2020, MSMI received City of Cincinnati Proclamation for being a strong vessel of support within the Multiple Sclerosis Community at large while enhancing the lives of all they encounter.
